When visiting Terrys Fabrics website we immediately display a cookie message that details how you are able to customise your preferences whilst using our website. We advise all of our users to view this message and the available options before they do anything else on our website. This message is present at all times and all pages on our website, until you have engaged with it and customised your preferences. You can change your preferences at any time, by pressing Manage Cookies at the bottom of our website.

Please note that when completing a purchase we will collect your details in order to fulfil your order. However this data is not used for any marketing purposes when you choose “Please do not send me marketing information” during the checkout process. So please read and review this setting to ensure it meets your chosen preferences when completing your order.

Cookies explained

We store personal information about you to provide our products and services to you and to promote our products and services to you. 

We only do this when absolutely necessary, for example to fulfil and deliver orders to your chosen address. Personal information is not used in any capacity for marketing purposes, except that data which you have consented to provide via our cookie acceptance banner or during the checkout process.

The personal information we store is your name, postal address, email address, telephone and fax numbers. We keep this information for as long as we need to in order to fulfil your order, have a record of your purchase for our returns procedure (in the event that items your order are faulty) and in order to fulfil our contractual promises and guarantees to you.

We do not store credit card details. Our shopping platform Shopify does have options to store credit card information, but we do not have any access to your credit card details, as these are stored by our partner Shopify.

Other than explained below, we will keep your personal information private and confidential. We will also keep your personal information secure and share it securely.

When placing an order we share your personal information with our core business partners (Shopify and our nominated carriers). Shopify is the platform that hosts our website, so your information needs to be saved in order to fulfil your order. Our nominated carriers require your data as well in order to deliver your order to the correct destination. However, when you have accepted our cookie preferences or opted into marketing within our checkout, we also share your personal information with non-functional business partners which include Trust Pilot and Klaviyo. Trust Pilot collects feedback from customers so that we can improve our service. Klaviyo provides our marketing and email services. We share data from our customer services activities with our GDPR compliant  partners Ultimate and Freshdesk in order to help provide a better service to our customer. We only share personal data with them that is required to provide customer services you request, such as in our Live chat options to recover order information and the like.  Any other data supplied to our customer service partners is anonymised. Apart from this we do not normally share your personal information with anyone else.

If you object to us handling your personal information in the way we have explained above then you can change your preferences on our cookie management banner or change your preference during the checkout process when you place an order. If you have initially chosen preferences that you would now like to change, then you can update your preferences on our cookie management banner, and change your email preferences on our subscription page.

We will comply with any reasonable request by you to erase or correct your personal information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request but we will not charge you anything for exercising your rights.

Upon written request, you are also entitled to a copy of the personal data held about you by us, as provided under the Data Protection Act. You also have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in your information.

We reserve the right to amend our privacy policy/statement, and any amendment will be clearly published on our website.

Klarna

In order to be able to offer you Klarna’s payment options, we will pass certain aspects of your personal information to Klarna, such as contact and order details, in order for Klarna to assess whether you qualify for their payment options and to tailor the payment options for you.
