Agnieszka Gasparska is the founder of Kiss Me I’m Polish, an independent New York City-based design firm, that she established in 2003. Since that time she has won multiple awards for her portfolio and strategy projects, working within the arts, culture, education and media industries. Her work lives not only in pixels, but on paper and in physical space too. In fact, it is through magical chemistry and collaboration that her work jumps off the page and comes alive. So we are proud to bring you the Designer Insights of Agnieszka Gasparska.

1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Playfully nerdy. Charming but serious. Smart and informative, but surprising and heartfelt.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process? The first steps always involve a lot of reading, a lot of writing, a lot of doodling, and gathering tons of reference images that capture the essence of what we're going to be trying to convey.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I admire different people for so many different aspects of who they are. If I had to pick an attribute that may be at the forefront of my mind these days though I would say learning from those people who are curious, comfortable with what they don't know, and don't get in their own way with their fears and insecurities. A creative life and career is a never-ending process.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Sometimes I find that just starting *something* (even if you have no idea where it's going or what you're doing yet), is the best way to start getting things moving. Other times simply shifting your perspective can be the most productive way to make progress.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
Everything. Every step along the way has put me where I am today - and I’m still moving. You can’t cheat the process. And you can’t always anticipate every turn. You must be open to the possibilities in every moment, every connection, every relationship, every win, every failure. As a 94-year old dear friend recently told me on my birthday, “go with the flow.”
