1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Homely and Colourful with a sense of fun. My style has to be practical for my family but also show my love for design. I mix high street bargains with indulgence pieces.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
My inspiration comes from blogs, Pinterest and magazines. I create a story for the room, from the story I picture a theme and palette then source the products.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I don’t work with creative people in the designing sense, but as a content writer and blogger I write about people, products and companies every day. One of the first companies I worked with was Suna Interior Design, I love their work especially their use of colour. I admire Kelly Hoppen as she has always stayed true to her signature look. I also admire many other interior bloggers such as Kate Watson Smyth (Mad About the House) and Sian Astley (Moregeous).
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Everything inspires me - a colour, a pattern, a product or even a word. When I get writers block I take a moment to use all my senses and soak in everything around me. In this fast moving world we can miss so much.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
Only recently I discovered my passion for writing. Sometimes your true calling is hidden, when you find it, grab onto it with both hands and don’t let it go. Work hard, be bold, stay focused and just love every minute. Make sure you always stay true to yourself and your brand.
