1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I love to fuse vintage furniture into contemporary spaces. I have an eclectic aesthetic that incorporates a mix of old and new usually with a Global twist, all the while ensuring that the space is casual.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I always start by determining my clients needs first and foremost. Then it starts with a base colour palette and I work from there. I usually create a mini mood board for myself that encapsulates the look and feel of an interior.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I have been styling the wallpapers of Kristjana Williams for the last couple of years now. She is so incredibly talented and her designs are so wonderfully quirky in their detail. Kristjana has been a lovely friend and mentor to me over the years.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I am always inspired by nature and travel. I look for colour combinations when I am in these environments. I also love photography, so going to photographic exhibitions and seeing captured moments in time I also find very inspiring.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
My greatest advice would be to just go for it. I didn’t have the confidence to start, but I had a lovely friend who encouraged me to help her design her bathroom. She pushed me to just start and gave me the confidence I needed. From there, I’ve been taking on clients for 2 years now and my interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest and well known Design Blog – Apartment Therapy.
