1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Let’s put it this way: if DesignBreak was an outfit, it would have been a great pair of well-worn jeans, a white top with an innovative cut that will take you a while to notice and admire. An ombré yellow Oxford shoes and a big piece of quirky jewelry, a huge handbag with a great buckle and an iPhone and it’s camera always on the ready. With that being said, I'm one of those who really enjoys clean lines and white spaces and so, in most cases I write about design on the minimalist spectrum.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
As a design blogger, I always look for new ways to highlight the work of young designers and especially, young Israeli designers. I enjoy getting a behind the scenes look into their lives and their creative world and most of the time this also leads to creating a new series of posts on the blog.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
When I entered into the world of blogging, one of the things that made all the difference was the amount of support and encouragement that I received from fellow bloggers, whom I have never met back then. The ability to connect with such wonderful humans, who share your passion for design (and coffee), that will always be there by your side and at times will become some of your closest friends, make me feel nothing but admiration to the fact that you can accept someone into your life in a split of a tweet.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
As I mentioned, I love getting to know the story behind a design and one of the things that I’m lucky enough to be able to experience is going to students presentations, listening to their process and getting a glimpse into their raw and exciting world of creation. When you come close to all this talent, you can be nothing but inspired to push harder and reach higher goals.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I have to say that probably the fact that I didn’t know what I was doing when I started. The only thing I knew for sure was that I’m obsessed with all things design. From there my main fuel was (and still is) raw and contagious curiosity. That also goes for my advice. If you are curious about something that you have a gut feeling it’s the right thing for you, just go for it. Don’t think too much. Start with baby steps and the rest will follow. Oh also, don’t forget to smile and enjoy the sun. It makes everything better!
