1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Luxury is not just the outcome of a project, but something I want clients to experience all along the way. It’s about a comfortable chair, a favorite beverage, the smell of a delicious meal, all shared with people they love.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I’m in ‘imagining mode’. While walking, cooking, driving, I’m imagining the outcome..the room, the art, the feeling as they enter. Then my mind shifts to my vast resources so I can achieve an outcome personal for them.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
Artists inspire me. I love their process, evolution, themes and continual product with alterations, new concepts and forms. Every day they start anew ~ re-evaluate and reconsider. They are immersed with all their senses. Beauty, message, meaning is constantly evolving. I love to hear them talk about their work which is a window for me.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I’m an avid walker, traveller and museum lover. Whether people, plants and flowers, homes. art and attire, all engage me with patterns, colors, forms.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I have Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a minor in Philosophy and started my career working with inner city, gifted and special needs teenagers before transitioning to interior design. The visceral impact of ‘home’ was a truth I could not avoid. It is my mission to create a Gestalt when I design ~ Meaning when it does all come together, the impact of seeing the whole room is so much greater than the sum of the parts.
