1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I love working with many different design, furniture and architecture styles, and combining them all together, while using colour throughout the project.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I like to begin by determining what design pieces and furniture a client wishes to keep, and then developing a vision for the project based on their treasured items.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
For me, it is the accumulation of working with many creative people, who have influenced me in different ways. They all bring different creative inspiration to my work.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I often derive inspiration from my clients themselves, in their artwork, antiques, and items they bring home from their travels. I find this results in an organic design process.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I take design risks. I use colour, which makes a big design impact in an overcast city like Vancouver. I always put my client and design vision first. Don’t be afraid to explore new design challenges, or to start your own company once you have experience. Never stop learning or taking inspiration from the world around you.
