1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
When I design photo books for clients, I like clean layouts with lots of white space. I believe the photos should stand out more than any text or embellishments.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
Finding out the client’s goals is essential before starting the photo organizing process. Do they want albums? Or wall art in a collage? Perhaps they want to digitize their photos?
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I love when I work with other organizers because I get to collaborate on ideas and pick up new tips and tricks of the trade. I never let on to my clients that I know everything and sometimes even they come up with a new way to approach a project that I hadn’t thought of. I try to capture these best practices and use them again in the future.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I love photo books, I always have. I love to emulate sleek designs that I see in other published materials. Images can have a way of calming and centering.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I became a photo organizer because of my background in photography and because of the overwhelming need in this digital age to manage our photo memories. I always recommend that a small business owner find a true niche that works for them and specialize in that craft. Be the expert!
