1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I would describe my style as eclectic. It is inspired from antique furniture and architecture with an emphasis on scale.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
My creative process begins with much discussion and thought. I decipher what is available and source the various materials I will need. My creative process comes out of a sense that what I am about to create is a really unique design.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I have worked with many people who I both respected and admired but the most influential were the few people who taught me how to trust my eye for proportion and surface.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I have drawn much inspiration from the Sir John Soane Museum and the way John Soane played with light. He was able to pair down classical architecture into something that could be considered modern today. His ability to take a classical column and make it look modern always inspired me. This is something I consider when looking for inspiration.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I believe perseverance is what has brought me to this point in my career. One needs a sense of survival and determination to keep going. You must surround yourself with the best people and persevere.
