1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Nettie: My personal style is minimal with elements of nature. My goal is to take a dysfunctional space and to bring it back to life. Mary: I am creating spaces with my client’s style preferences in mind, but my main focus is to first de-clutter the space.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
Karin: I immediately think about function. I find out what is bothering the client the most and start there. Jane: To find out what change we can make that our client will find most valuable. Once they experience this change, they can see that change is possible.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
Mary: It has to be our team. They truly care for our clients and go above and beyond to help them achieve their goals for a restful home. Karin: The Sappari Solutions Team of organizers are very talented. We each bring something unique to the table. We all work so well together and learn a lot from each other.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Nettie: I often pray before an appointment that I might serve this client and be the help that they need. Karin: Helping my clients is what inspires me. Their environment is causing them stress, frustration and anxiety. I love going in and solving their dilemmas.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
Jane: An organizer must be able to put aside her own personal style and desires for a space and be willing to create the space their client needs. Nettie: Read and become involved with ICD or local organizing group. Shadow a veteran organizer. Research to learn what types of organizing are available.
