1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I’m inherently a collector and recently an aspiring minimalist. I’m interested in spaces being personally significant and intentional. However you choose to fill your space, I encourage you to be intentional.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I always start with a feeling that my client wants to evoke with their space. That drives decluttering and styling the space, choosing only items contributing to their desired feeling.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I used to be an elementary school teacher and I’ve always admired the way teachers find creative ways to organize their classrooms. Using items on hand and upcycling old things to serve new purposes is a favorite trick of mine. Kids are great at this too--they can look at an object and come up with a completely different use for it that adults don’t think of.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I derive so much inspiration from pinterest. I admire the creativity and innovation of regular people who are re-imagining spaces and items in unique ways.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with other organizers and have learned so much from them. I always encourage aspiring organizers to shadow a professional to get a sense for the work that we do. If you love organizing and helping others fall in love with their space, go for it!
