Janette and Jordan are a mother and daughter duo, that created The 2 Seasons lifestyle blog, which they write from New York and Kentucky. The blog is so named as even though they each have a passion for design they are both at different stages of their journey. The blog is a great venture for them, as even though they live 700 miles apart The 2 Seasons keeps them close, giving them a shared bond. So we are proud to bring you the Designer Insights of Janette and Jordan.

1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
Janette: I think my style is traditional with a twist. I like a neutral room that can have pops of colors. Jordan: I like simple and the less is more look. Using what you have and making it work for you.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
Janette: I like to be creative but practical at the same time. If I am planning to spend a lot of money it should stand the test of time. Jordan: I like to think the project through from the beginning to the end. By doing this, I plan out the steps of what will and will not work.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
Janette: I recently did some work on a volunteer vacation in a third world country with a local designer named Debra Hupman. She creates amazing kitchens and baths on some of the best horse farms in the world. She confirmed my belief that it isn't always about how much you spend. Jordan: Growing up I was around creative people like my grandmother and my mother. I am so impressed with what they both can do and create to make a beautiful home.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Janette: I browse through old and new magazines, home tours, furniture and accessory stores and of course Pinterest. Jordan: For me, magazines will always be my main inspiration. I love sitting down at the end of the day and taking my time going through them.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
Janette: Even though I am not a trained designer, I have enjoyed decorating since I was a young girl. Also, I am a former newspaper reporter. Writing a blog is the perfect marriage of those two loves. Jordan: I have always been interested in design, and writing a blog with my mom has helped me to appreciate it even more. Our blog has made our relationship even better.
