Tori Toth is the founder of her eponymous home staging business, based in New York City. Tori was born in New Jersey and from an early age was exposed to her father's construction business and the joys of fixing things around the home. This ultimately sparked her passion for design, interiors and home staging. She has had a varied career but her passion for home staging led to her becoming a Certified Home Staging Expert in 2009. So we are proud to bring you the Designer Insights of Tori Toth.

1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
My style is eclectic, in part of being a Gemini. I love merging two or more styles together to create one cohesive look something that’s a must in home staging.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
It’s important to first understand who is the potential buyer and research the area, then source the rental furniture and accessories being used to highlight a lifestyle that will sell.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
Hmm…I tend to work solo, so this is a hard one, but I’d have to say the pioneers of the home staging industry. These women work all across the world and are not only extremely creative and driven, but always are willing to provide advice, support and their knowledge. We always come together during the Real Estate Staging Association’s convention in Las Vegas. Lov’em all!
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Magazines, home stores and model homes inspire how I arrange items, especially accessories, in new and unique ways. Adding these moments in time emotionally connect the buyer.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
Beginning with the end in mind has helped steer my career. I know what I want, even if life throws a few curve balls and usually when I set my sights on something, it becomes reality. Don’t worry about plans and perfectionism just start and all will fall into place.
