1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I love color and pattern and whimsical details, but I also love clean lines and a neutral foundation. My interiors seem to have a solid, relatively neutral foundation giving you the ability to change things up, and the color and whimsy in the textiles and décor give it life.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
I first learn all I can about my client and how they want to live. Then I start to visualize what would be needed to have them live that way… an imagination goes a long way.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
I would have to say it’s the designers of furniture and textiles. The detail that goes into the shapes of a chair and how those shapes meet are brilliant. And textile design is addictive, between the color, scale, patterns, and options you have to be a creative genius. Interior designers are amazing as well, the act of putting a space together that you can love for years to come is an art. An art that embodies not only your client, but all of the elements to make it a well cultivated home.
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
I look at my client first, their style and lifestyle. Then I’ll flip through some of my Pinterest boards to look at furniture, fabrics, and art that I’ve pinned that compliment my client. I use Pinterest like my own personal catalog.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
A lot has transpired to bring me to this point, a lot of planning, patience, networking, reading, learning, hard work, and putting myself out there. I’ve gotten to this point by not giving up on my goals and my aspirations, and surrounding myself with other entrepreneurs and designers.
