1) In your own words describe your unique style and creative aesthetic?
I love to mix it up. I’m drawn to a little bit of everything … from the ultra modern to rustic and vintage to mid-century mod.
2) When starting a new project, what is your creative process?
Most of my projects start out because of a need we have. A need for storage, a need for organization, a blank wall or shelf in need of decor.
3) Out of the creative people you have worked with, who is it that you respect and admire the most?
My mom is probably one of the most creative people I know and definitely the person I owe my creativity to. She was always doing crafty things growing up, and encouraged me to do the same. She still has a passion for home decor, and I am still taking inspiration and ideas from her! She’s also a bargain hunter (and therefore the person I also owe my love of thrift stores to)!
4) When looking for inspiration is there a particular thing you do to get inspired?
Inspiration comes from all over. Sometimes it comes from magazines, from Pinterest, or from a fun thrift store find. I take inspiration from a lot of places and work from there to make my project my own.
5) What has brought you to this point in your career? And what is your advice for people looking to follow in your footsteps?
I’ve been able to do what I love, and for that I feel so fortunate. My advice to anyone else that wants to do what they love full time is to START making it happen. Wake up tomorrow and do ONE thing that gets you closer to that dream. You just need to start. Everyday make a little progress and in one year you’ll be amazed at how far you’ve come!
